💡 What Changed in AI This Week

ChatGPT's ad business is moving fast. On August 31, OpenAI said its ads were making money at a pace that would equal $1 billion over a full year.
This does not mean OpenAI has already earned $1 billion from ads. It means its current monthly ad income, multiplied by 12, has reached that pace.
The ad business reached this level in less than 200 days. Tens of thousands of companies now advertise there. OpenAI is also opening its self-serve ad system to more businesses across India, Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa.
If you use free ChatGPT, you will probably see more ads. OpenAI says they are clearly marked and kept separate from answers.

OpenAI's example shows the ad below the answer, with an "Ad" label.
👀 We tried it ourselves. Siteefy spent a little over $100 on ChatGPT ads and made zero sales. A Canadian agency reported a similar result: about $415 spent, around 60 clicks, and no sales. These are small tests, so they do not prove ChatGPT ads never work.
Why this matters
ChatGPT is becoming another place where people find products and decide what to buy. If you use it, check whether you are seeing an answer or an ad. If you advertise there, start small and measure sales, not clicks.
ℹ️ Know first: The $1 billion figure is a yearly pace based on current monthly income. It is not a full year of recorded sales.
⚡ A Major New AI Model
Claude Fable 5.1 is out

Anthropic's benchmark results. Higher numbers are better.
Anthropic released Claude Fable 5.1 on September 1. It is a new Claude model built for difficult work that can take hours, such as deep research, long documents, and tasks across many files.
In Anthropic's own tests, Fable 5.1 scored higher than Fable 5, Opus 5, and GPT-5.6 Sol across several research, coding, reasoning, and business tasks. Anthropic also says it costs about 25% less than Fable 5 for typical work.
ℹ️ Know first: These results come from Anthropic. The model is new, so independent testing is still limited.

🔎 3 Tools Worth Discovering
Albo

Your saved videos are probably scattered across Instagram, TikTok, and browser bookmarks. Albo puts links, videos, recipes, places, and products in one app, then sorts them into collections and a map.
Know first: It is free to try, but the free version limits how much you can save.
Any Command

Any Command turns an Android phone into a mouse, keyboard, and media remote for a Windows PC. Bluetooth mode needs no software on the computer, so it can work with a presentation-room PC or work laptop where you cannot install apps.
Know first: It only works with Android and Windows. Screen sharing, file transfer, and remote access are paid.
Clipto

Clipto lets you search your own videos, recordings, meetings, photos, and documents by what is inside them, not by the file name. You can search for a scene or phrase and jump to the exact moment.
Know first: The desktop version needs a newer computer. Windows is still in beta, and the service becomes paid after the free trial.
See you next week,
